Brundage Mountain Resort plans to kick off the 2024/25 Winter Season with full time operations starting Friday, November 22. Winter storms have dropped 23 inches on the resort’s base area in the past week, providing the snow coverage needed for Brundage Mountain’s earliest opening in nearly two decades. Brundage plans to operate seven days a week, conditions permitting. We plan to run the Bluebird Express, Bear Chair and Easy Street Triple Chairs for opening day, with additional lifts and more terrain opening as soon as conditions permit.

Brundage Mountain Resort’s expansive 10-year improvement plan is right on track, with the first phase of base area construction completed last month. The first piece of the newly designed base area is a two-story, 2,800 square foot building that now serves as the permanent home of Brundage Mountain’s Patrol headquarters. The next step in the evolution of the Brundage Mountain base area is a 12,000 square foot building that will be known as the “Mountain Adventure Center”, or MAC. Brundage Mountain plans to break ground on the MAC in spring of this year (2023).

Brundage Mountain is excited to announce that all chairlifts will be in operation starting this Friday, December 9. More than three feet of fresh snow has fallen on Brundage Mountain’s slopes since Thanksgiving Day. Brundage Mountain kicked off full-time operations last Friday, December 2 with the BlueBird Express, Centennial Triple and Easy Street Triple chairs in action. Starting this Friday, December 9, the Bear Chair and Lakeview Triple Chairs will be added to the mix. The Bear and Jammer runs will offer two sets of freestyle terrain park features.

Opening Day is always an exciting time, and with three feet of fresh snow falling this week, we’re even more stoked to welcome skiers and riders to the mountain. This year's December 2 opening will go down as one of the earliest full-time openings in recent memory. Over the last 16 seasons, Brundage Mountain has opened by December 2 only one other time, which was in 2020. The storms that hit us over and over this week have truly transformed the mountain, but snowfall alone doesn’t make Opening Day possible.

Brundage Mountain is celebrating Independence Day 2022 with 5k/10k running events, an all-day concert and two extra days of operations. Brundage Mountain is now open Wednesdays through Sundays, with Bonus Days on Monday, July 4 & Tuesday, July 5. The Bluebird Express chairlift runs from 10 am – 4:30 pm on operating days.

Turns for miles, and every time you change directions you get another incredible view. That’s a common vision for trail designers and singletrack visionaries across the globe. No matter where you ride, sooner or later you look at an area and think, wow this would make a great spot for a trail. That is exactly how the newest project of the Central Idaho Mountain Bike Association (CIMBA) was conceived back in 2009. It all started with a map, an existing trail system, a new trail system, and the idea of connecting the two. Then press pause…for nine years.

December 2021 will go down in the history books as one of the snowiest Decembers on record at Brundage Mountain. The base area snow station logged 104 inches of fresh snow between December 6 and December 31. That makes it the second snowiest December in more than a decade.

A series of robust winter storms continues to drop pre-Christmas blessings on Brundage Mountain, and we now have all six chairlifts operating and 100 percent of our terrain open! More than five and a half feet (68 inches) of fresh snow has fallen since December 10, which has created a base area depth of 42” and a summit depth of 57”. The snow shows no signs of stopping. Forecasters are predicting significant amounts of snow every day for at least the next five days, with an additional five FEET of snow possible over the next week.

Brundage Mountain Resort is excited to welcome Sam Hess as the resort’s new Executive Chef. Hess brings 20 years of experience to the position. Sam is trained in the classic French style and has honed his culinary craft over the years by working in award-winning kitchens in New Orleans and Orlando. Hess has trained under Emeril Legasse, among other James Beard award winners, and has developed original restaurant concepts in Texas and the Bahamas. In recent years, Sam has been at the helm of some of Central Idaho’s finest restaurants.

The new Blue Line will operate on Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm, looping through the downtown corridor area (Super 8 to the Brundage Inn). On holiday weekends, it will run Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The new route will run all summer through Labor Day Weekend, then transition for its winter service to Brundage Mountain.

The last few days of any ski season always bring mixed bag of feelings and emotions. The entire Brundage Team would like to say thank you to YOU, all of our guests, for helping us get through the season. It wasn’t easy. There were some challenges. It wasn’t always fun. But in the end, we had some great times, we got to ski the Best Snow in Idaho, we had some amazing powder days, some fantastic bluebird sunny spring groomer days and had a ton of fun during this 135 day long ski season…all while keeping the Brundage vibe alive and sharing this all with you!

A seemingly endless series of storms has dumped copious amounts of powder on Brundage Mountain, giving the resort its second snowiest February since monthly totals have been recorded.
