What’s New for the Winter of 2022/23
Less than a year after Brundage Mountain announced its ambitious 10-year Mountain Improvement Plan, several key components are already on track to be in place for the Winter 2022/23 season. Rainbow Fire Update – Thursday, September 8 @ 7 pm
The five-acre Rainbow Fire, burning on Brundage Mountain, saw no significant growth this afternoon, thanks to the valiant efforts of fire crews from multiple agencies. “The firefighting efforts over the past 24 hours have been remarkable,” says Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider. “The weather was wild but the response has been extremely effective. We want to sincerely thank all the firefighters for their tireless efforts.” Read More

Brundage Mountain Details New Efforts to Preserve Healthy Whitebark Pine Stands
Work crews from the USDA Forest Service, Youth Conservation Corps and Brundage Mountain Resort are teaming up in an effort to conserve an at-risk species of tree. Whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) is in rapid decline across its range, which has led to it being proposed for federal listing as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. While the silver-gray skeletons of dead whitebark pine are one of the most recognizable features of Brundage Mountain’s summit ridge, Brundage is also home to some of the healthiest, blister rust resistant populations of living whitebark pine trees in Idaho.
