Under Construction!

11/15/11

New and exciting things are always happening at Brundage, and right now, our biggest project of the season is in full gear.

We’re remodeling the 2nd floor of the lodge to add space and seating (and a larger kitchen) to Smoky’s Pub.

The exciting news is that this will allow us to offer a more comprehensive restaurant-style menu on the second floor. We’re expecting to add at least 100 seats to Smoky’s, expanding both the existing adults-only space, AND creating a brand new, separate seating area where families can enjoy the fresh, new menu.

Here’s where we found the space:

We’ve framed in the area that once served as our staircase. Now, we have a new exterior staircase and a new deck to serve as the entrance to the second and third floors. Two new sets of windows will add tons of light to the second floor dining spaces.

We’ve also added three new sets of double doors to improve traffic flow to the restrooms, locker room and the new restaurant space.

This also created more square footage on the third floor deck. (As you can see above the doorways). This year, that means a new place to enjoy a meal or drink outside. Beyond this season, these changes open up a lot of options for future improvements to the third floor spaces.

We’re still working on the interior, and I’ll bring you some more photos of that area soon. But don’t worry – this project won’t push back our opening day plans.

Brundage Mountain will open as soon as we get enough snow to properly pack and groom the slopes. You can get more specifics on our Early Season Operating Plans Here. From the looks of this forecast, it appears the slopes will be building their snowbase as we put the finishing touches on this exciting new space.
