Thumbs Up for Second Sunday!

03/13/11

Our “Second Sunday” season pass holder appreciation days are getting bigger and more exciting than ever! Today, the mountain was BUSTLING with people, activity and fun.

Whether they were enjoying the ‘bring a friend for free’ bonus, free race clinic and rookie race, apres ski music and festivities or just amazing snow conditions – we we’re getting the ‘Thumbs Up” all over the mountain!

With and inch of fresh snow and blue skies for most of the day, it was hard not to love hitting the slopes and exploring the trees.Clouds rolled in and out during the day, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of our visitors.

More than 400 people took advantage of the Second Sunday discounts, and that was just the beginning.

Look at the starting line enthusiasm over at the Rookie Race…

Racers of all ages took a shot at the gates on Griz.

They picked up some pointers and got some valuable tips at the free race clinic.

A few of our more-seasoned visitors created a race of their own…

A different combination of skills was required…

(It looks like they might have benefited from some coaching…)

But even a rough finish like this is worth celebrating.

Two thumbs up!

“Barbeque Row” was a popular spot by afternoon. This group is building its own Second Sunday tradition. This is the second month in a row for this festive gathering, and it’s just about doubled in size.

It took a lot of grill space to feed this crowd.

Everyone wanted a taste.

A select few opted for ‘Second Sunday’ toast.

Thumbs up on the Shot Ski!

Some thicker clouds moved in by late afternoon, but that didn’t mean the fun was over.

Dozens of people enjoyed live music in Smoky’s Pub.

Not only does Scott Tyler put on a great show, he actually builds his own guitars!

The apres ski music struck just the right note to wrap up our best Second Sunday yet.

We hope you’ll join us next time and find it worth of some thumbs up!
