The Days Between

01/07/11

The days between the storms can seem unbearably slow.

When will we get more blessed snow?

The powder is tracked

The trees are bare

There’s a touch too much warmth in the air.

The snow won’t fall

We look to the sky

We watch the storm clouds pass us by.

It’s hard to remember,

It’s easy to forget

The powder is long gone

And yet…

The sun comes out

The slopes are still first rate

And tomorrow’s forecast sure looks great.

The days between put our powder patience to the test…

But the comforting corduroy gives us just enough rest.
