Tailgating and Speed Dating

02/14/10

What a festive atmosphere this weekend at Brundage Mountain! We focus a lot on the snow conditions here, but not ALL of the good times are had ON the slopes.

When it’s time to take a break between runs, many of our most practiced visitors get things smokin’ in the lunchtime hot spot, the lower lot.

This is ground zero for tailgating at Brundage, and these veterans can even give Bronco fans a run for their money.

We saw all kinds of equipment getting rolled out in pursuit of the ultimate tailgate party.

The portable grill is a must for quick, easy deployment. They come in all shapes and sizes.

You can’t really call it a Beer Brat without an official sponsor…

Speaking of easy deployment, why not load the whole portable kitchen (seating included) on to the back of a flatbed truck?

Other lower lot aficionados use the natural terrain to craft their makeshift accommodations.

Some even bring along reinforcements to take care of spills and leftovers.

No matter what your set up or menu, the most critical ingredient for this tasty tradition is clearly… good company.

Good company was also the goal of a NEW endeavor today at Brundage Mountain. In honor of Valentine’s Day, we hosted a couple hours of Speed Dating on the Blue Bird quad.

Singles paired up for the seven minute lift ride…

No strings attached, but a good chance to meet someone who you know you share at least ONE interest with.

Several adventurous souls took a crack at the Speed Dating scene…

Whether anyone will make a lasting love connection – is anyone’s guess.

But, there was plenty of personality among those who gave it a shot.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day…why not?
