Safety Month Topic #3: Smart Style & Park Smart

01/18/20

January is Safety Month here at Brundage Mountain and we are excited to share some pro tips on how to ski and ride safely. This week’s tips come to us from the Brundage Terrain Park Crew and the Brundage Ski + Ride School who are focusing on two important topics:

Smart Style & Park Smart

No matter what part of the mountain you are exploring, it’s important to Know the Code (Skiers & Riders Responsibility Code) and adhere to it at all times.

Those choosing to explore terrain parks have an extra set of guidelines to follow, for your safety and for the safety of those around you.

Brundage Mountain is offering a couple different ways to get acquainted with the fundamentals of safe terrain park usage.

#1: FREE Freestyle Lessons Saturday, January 25

Brundage Mountain’s PSIA/AASI Certified Freestyle Specialists will be on hand offering FREE instruction in freestyle riding and terrain park safety. Three one-hour sessions are available at 10 am – 11 am – and 12 noon.

#2: Park Smart Video from NSAA

If you can’t join us in person, we invite you to visit the Park Smart Website and watch the video provided by the National Ski Areas Association.

We would also like to thank the local kids who participated in our Safety Month coloring contest. All of the entries helped illustrate parts of the Responsibility Code. The entries featured below focused on our S.M.A.R.T. terrain park principles. Great job, kids!
