Summer Chairlift Season to Close with Bonus Day, Monday, September 5

08/26/11

McCall, ID– Brundage Mountain Resort is extending its hours for the final weekend of the summer chairlift season. In addition to regular operations from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm  on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the BlueBird Express will be running on Monday, September 5 for the Labor Day holiday.

“We’re closing out the summer with some hot temperatures, and heading up to the high country is a great way to beat the heat,” said resort spokesperson, April Russell. “We continue to be surprised by how long our slopes have remained green. It’s certainly a beautiful scene for late summer.”

Late-season snowpack prevented Brundage Mountain from opening its mountain bike trails until July 14, but visitation has been strong since that time, for both scenic chairlift rides and mountain biking. Still, visitors are unlikely to encounter crowds or lift lines during summer visits.

Advanced mountain bikers still have the opportunity to try out some new trail features at the base of the Hidden Valley downhill trail. A brand new “four-cross” course was built earlier this season and is getting great reviews from riders. The intermediate Black Bear Loop is also a favorite this time of year.

A $2 discount will be offered on a single chairlift ride to any of Brundage Mountain Resort’s Facebook Fans.

Visitors can head to www.facebook.com/BrundageMountainResort prior to their visit and click the ‘like’ button to qualify for the discount. Brundage Mountain’s Facebook Fans will also qualify for a $10 discount off a full- or half-day raft trip offered by Brundage Whitewater Adventures on the Salmon River in Riggins. (No double discounts) Brundage Whitewater Adventures will also conclude its summer season on Monday, September 5.
