No Matter How You Look at It...The Weekend Looks Awesome

03/06/15

With sunshine and warm temperatures in the forecast, people around our area have a lot of options on how to spend the weekend.

So why would you choose to head to Brundage for a weekend of skiing and riding?

We looked at it from all different angles…

Down low next to the smooth, buttery corduroy:

From high atop the chairlift where you can trace the skiers’ and riders’ graceful lines…

Or watch them carve their impressive turns in real time.

Check out the confidence behind this carve! You can’t lay down turns like this is the slopes aren’t perfectly smooth.

The evidence was equally as convincing from a low angle, looking up:

You can’t fake smiles like these!
More good reasons revealed themselves as we looked across an open slope…

Or straight uphill at the oncoming traffic…from a distance:

Or right up close:

On the groomed runs:

Or off-trail:

There’s simply no debating the fun factor of conditions like these.

How does this happen? We’ve been fortunate to have low overnight temperatures for the past week, and the forecast is for Brundage to remain in a definitive freeze/thaw cycle. With warm afternoon temperatures softening the slopes, it’s absolutely crucial that overnight temperatures reach a legitimate freeze point.

That allows our grooming crews to work the snow at the right temperature so our slopes can offer up the classic spring conditions everyone loves. But it’s not just the overnight temps that are important; the afternoon weather will definitely help enhance everyone’s ‘final run’. (The run to the patio at Smoky’s Bar & Grill).

(This one looks extra good close-up, too!)

See you soon!
