Join Us in Supporting Idaho Nonprofits for Idaho Gives, May 4 - May 7
Join Us in Supporting our local NonprofitsNonprofits are the backbone of communities like ours, showing up in ways that make a real difference every day. From May 4 to 7, Idaho Gives returns, bringing people across the state together to support local organizations and amplify their impact. At Brundage Mountain, we know every nonprofit plays an important role. This year, we are shining a spotlight on a handful of local groups involved in Idaho Gives that help shape recreation, connection, and community both on the mountain and throughout our region. Payette Lakes Ski Club
The club operates both The Little Ski Hill and Bear Basin Nordic Center in McCall. At Little Ski Hill, the heart of the operation is the after-school program, which offers transportation from schools in McCall, Donnelly, and New Meadows four days a week. Kids are introduced to lifelong skills through skiing and snowboarding, building confidence, community, and a love for the outdoors. As they grow, many return as instructors, passing that same excitement on to the next generation. Beyond the after-school program, Little Ski Hill is a lively community hub, offering night skiing, a full terrain park, good food, and a welcoming place for families to spend time together. CIMBA – Central Idaho Mountain Biking Association
CIMBA’s mission is to protect, enhance, and create quality trail experiences across Central Idaho through trail building, maintenance, advocacy, and education. Valley County Pathways
Recent accomplishments include completion of the Heinrich singletrack sidewalk pathway, with current efforts focused on building the Samson Trail singletrack sidewalk pathway, continuing to expand safe and scenic connections throughout the valley. Payette River Bicycle Movement
PRBM is also deeply involved in bike safety and maintenance education, offering hands-on programs for kids of all ages. From preschoolers to older students, participants build skills through obstacle courses and interactive learning that make riding both fun and safe. In 2019, PRBM partnered with local volunteers to build a mountain bike trail at an elementary school, giving students a place to ride during recess and creating a resource the broader community can enjoy. Through strong partnerships with schools and community organizations, PRBM has refurbished and distributed bikes and helmets to more than 300 kids, helping open the door to confidence, independence, and outdoor adventure. Friends of the Payette Avalanche Center
Our mission is to provide a community-based forum to share avalanche information, to operate and maintain beacon basin training facilities in the area, to provide basic avalanche education to all types of winter recreationists, and to be a partner to the PAC in the West Central Mountains of Idaho. The “Friends” believe that education builds awareness, and awareness leads to safer backcountry travel. Their goal is to foster strong community and government support so the Payette Avalanche Center can continue to grow and equip people with the tools and information they need to travel safely in the backcountry. McCall Ski Heritage Foundation
To bring this history to life in a dynamic way, the foundation has partnered with Unrivaled, one of the nation’s leading museum design firms, to create an engaging and modern museum experience. The result will be a space that celebrates McCall’s people, history, culture, and community, while reflecting the region’s active, outdoor lifestyle. Ponderosa Center
The long-term goal is to create a multi-functional space that serves the McCall community as a place to learn, experience, and share. It is designed to inspire creativity, bring people together, and provide a welcoming setting to gather and celebrate. Adaptive Wilderness Snowsports of McCall
AWeSOMe! creates opportunities for participants to get outside and stay active year-round. Programs include alpine skiing at Brundage Mountain and Tamarack Resort, Nordic skiing at Bear Basin, Ponderosa State Park, and Tamarack, as well as snowshoeing throughout Valley County. In the warmer months, offerings expand to include paddle sports, mountain biking, swimming, and camping, helping participants build confidence, independence, and a strong connection to the outdoors. Payette Land Trust
Roots Forest School
Through nature-based early childhood education, Roots fosters curiosity, creativity, and community, helping shape confident, engaged, and lifelong learners. Donations help ensure that cost is not a barrier for families who want their children to attend. Support also allows the school to retain high-quality staff by providing fair wages and benefits, sustaining the dedicated team that makes these meaningful connections between educators, families, and the natural world possible. McCall Winter Sports Club
Calling the West Central Mountains home, MWSC trains at Brundage Mountain, The Little Ski Hill, and Tamarack Resort. The McCall area has a deep legacy in winter sports, including producing six Olympic skiers, and MWSC is proud to be part of that tradition. At its core, the club’s mission is to share a lifelong love of skiing and riding while helping young people build confidence, resilience, and strong character. Along the way, athletes gain valuable skills, celebrate milestones both big and small, and create lasting memories on and off the mountain. These aren’t the only nonprofits working hard to bring value to our local communities. You can read about other great causes using the menu bar at the top of www.idahogives.org.
