THANK YOU!!! Brundage Mountain Sets New Record for “Love Your Peaks” Cancer Fundraising
Brundage Mountain Resort was awash in sunshine, good vibes, and the color pink this past weekend, as the resort’s first ever “Love Your Peaks” fundraiser set a new fundraising record for the Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) organization.
Brundage Mountain hosted three days of events to raise funds for the 29-year-old non-profit. B4BC’s mission is to promote early detection and a healthy, active lifestyle as important tools in breast cancer prevention.
Weekend events included lighthearted activities like a Pink Snow Tie Dye Station, a Pink Poker Run, Snow Yoga, a silent auction and a raffle. One of the more poignant moments of the weekend came when more than a hundred boarders and skiers came together Saturday afternoon for a tribute run down Alpine to honor loved ones impacted by breast cancer.
Organizers had originally set a goal of raising $5,000 over the three-day event. Guests donated a small amount of money to participate in each activity, and Brundage Mountain donated 5% of weekend lift ticket revenue to bring the total raised to more than $16,000.
“The Brundage staff and the community all stepped up above and beyond!” says B4BC event manager, Curt Sterner. “The spirit of community we felt this weekend was incredible and the Brundage event set a new fundraising record for the Love Your Peaks tour. We can’t wait to do it again.”
“We are absolutely delighted that our community responded to this event with so much enthusiasm and generosity,” says Brundage Mountain event coordinator, Carolyn Rogers. “We love partnering with other groups that share our commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle and on top of that, it was a ton of fun.”
B4BC hosts more than a dozen Love Your Peaks events across the U.S. each season. This was the first event at Brundage Mountain and the resort hopes to host it again next season.
