Go Broncos! Brundage Changes the Date of its “Light Up the Night” Fireworks Show

12/23/24

Brundage Mountain Resort has taken the bold step of rescheduling its slopeside holiday celebration in support of the Boise State Broncos and their snow-loving fan base. The annual event was originally scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, December 31, 2024, but will now be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Light Up the Night Event:

The Light Up the Night Celebration features a dazzling slopeside fireworks show, a torchlight parade, and a kid’s glowstick parade. The event has been an annual tradition since 2011 which draws hundreds of skiers and non-skiers to the resort.

“This is a huge community event and is a big part of many families’ holiday traditions,” says Brundage Mountain general manager, Ken Rider. “We don’t want to make people choose between that and watching the Bronco’s first ever appearance in the college football playoffs. They should be able to do both and we are happy to be able to make that happen.”

This year, DJ Hans will be spinning tunes on the snowfront, adding to the party atmosphere. Smoky’s Bar & Grill will be open late offering a special event menu and snacks and drinks will also be available on the fourth floor of the Lodge. Guests are encouraged to stop by the new MTN Adventure Center for the new facility’s Celebratory Grand Opening.

MTN Adventure Center Celebratory Grand Opening:

The 18,000 square foot MTN Adventure Center has been fully operational since November 22, when Brundage opened for the 2024/25 season.

This bright and spacious new facility will welcome partygoers with extended hours and some special services during the New Years Day Light Up the Night Event. Guests can stop by the Guest Services lobby for some of Stacey Cake’s legendary ginger snaps, browse the new fashion and gear choices available in the expansive new Retail Shop, and cruise into the Rental Shop, where a bar will be set up for guests to purchase libations.

Be Prepared:

Light Up the Night is a free event. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly, in layers, and be prepared for the sudden weather changes that can happen in the mountains. Indoor space is limited and the best views of the fireworks show and torchlight and glowstick parades are from outside the buildings. Fire barrels will be placed around the base area for outdoor warming.
