Ready…Set…Wait. Letter from General Manager Ken Rider

11/21/23

Dear Friends of Brundage,

As we gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving, we’ve got a lot to be grateful for. I’m both extremely grateful and extremely impressed with the efforts the Brundage Mountain Team has put in to complete major off-season projects and gear up for Opening Day of the 2023-24 Winter Season. But, like many of you, gratitude is not the only emotion I’m feeling right now.

I never thought I would quote Carly Simon but “Anticipation, anticipation, Is makin’ me late, Is keepin’ me waitin’…”

We’re all eager to get the 2023-2024 winter season underway. The Brundage team is chomping at the bit to see you all enjoying good times on the mountain as soon as possible. Our goal, as always, is to open as much terrain as we can on the Friday after Thanksgiving. However, Mother Nature is taking her sweet time cooperating this year.

This is a good news/bad news situation right now. Our heads tell us the good news is that we are getting a bit more time to fine-tune or wrap up construction projects for winter. The bads news is our snow-loving hearts are ready to throw on our skis and boards and to quote P!nk, “Get the party started”.

Since we are now in a holding pattern, I thought I would give everyone a sneak peek of what’s been happening. (There’s a lot!)

Things you will notice as you enter the resort this year include:

  • New entry and route to the Main Parking lot with new drop-off zones. (Keep an eye out for our new directional signage to help guide you through the changes).
  • A new Easy Street parking lot, just South of the Main Parking Lot. You’ll access this through the Main Parking Lot, not the Centennial Parking Lot.
  • A new breakfast and coffee location courtesy of Brundage Mountain’s Bandit Food Truck is now located at the bottom of the stairs and will be open seven days a week/
  • The newly renovated Ski & Ride School will operate with a temporary layout and location until the full MAC is completed in the Fall of 2024
  • And it will be impossible to miss the new Mountain Adventure Center (MAC) building. Set to open a year from now, this is the future home of the FallLine retail and rental shop, the Tune Shop, lockers, Guest Services, Ski & Ride School and AWeSOMe, along with brand new restroom facilities. (For this year, you’ll find these services in the Main Lodge, as you have in the past).

The latest forecast tells us we won’t have skiing and riding to offer this weekend as we hoped, BUT, we are inviting our guests up to the mountain on Saturday, November 25th for a Pass Pick Up and Wax Party from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm.

Smoky’s Bar and Grill will be open with full bar service and a pre-season menu featuring some exciting new menu items.

The Fall Line Shop is offering 20% off hot waxes and deep discounts on last season’s demo gear, along with Black Friday sales on retail items.

The Guest Services office will be open for Season Pass purchases and pick up. Brundage Mountain has upgraded its ticketing system, so everyone will need a new RFID card this year.

The Brundage Mountain recruiting team will also be on site and ready to answer any questions about winter and year-round employment opportunities. We have a variety of outdoor and indoor positions open that fit a wide range of skill sets and schedules. www.brundage.com/employment

We want to reassure everyone that Brundage Mountain will open as soon as we have enough snow to properly prep and groom the slopes.

We invite you to keep an eye on pre-season snowfall and operational updates at www.brundage.com/snow, and maybe plan an exuberant snow dance to work off some of those Thanksgiving indulgences.

Think snow!
