Get it Started!

03/11/11

It’s pretty unusual to see a line of cars on the road to Brundage on a Friday, but with today’s conditions – I’m not surprised!

We had five inches of snow fall late yesterday afternoon, and the sun rose this morning revealing bright blue skies.

Luckily, that line of cars didn’t turn into a crowd of people on the slopes, and in typical Brundage Mountain fashion, we had nearly unlimited access to sweet powder turns.

Last night’s snow storm packed some HOWLING winds, and the upper part of the slopes had an interesting wind-chap thing going on.

Up here, the slopes were smooth, but not nearly as soft as you’d expect.

But, in just a few turns and less than a 100 vertical feet, the snow got considerably softer.

A few turns more…

even softer…

And once we figured out where the sweet stuff was located, we were ready to relax and enjoy!

A lot of people headed straight for The Face.

But me and my pals, we took a different path. It didn’t take long to find some soft, powdered-sugar steeps.

Not even a hint of wind effect out here…

Just sweet, fluffy goodness.

Snow so soft and forgiving, you barely feel it when you take a spill. (Except, maybe, your ego).

Add in a little sunshine…

And a limitless selection of fresh lines…

and it’s hard to imagine a better way to start the weekend!

Happy Friday!

– April
