Author Eve Chandler takes a break from signing books to smile for a photo with Jerry and Darlene Cornilles. Jerry provided many historical photos for the book.

We are absolutely thrilled at the response we’ve had to the release of our new book, Brundage Mountain: Best Snow in Idaho.

More than 200 people turned out for our book release party Saturday at the Shore Lodge, not only to purchase a signed copy, but to share some amazing stories and memories!

We were excited that so many of our ‘extended’ Brundage family members could be there to share this time with us.

And for those who couldn’t make it, we’ll be hosting several more book signings in the coming weeks. Read on for some photos highlights of our first two events and details on those still to come…

Diane DeBoer shows Larry and Jane Duke the pages devoted to their daughter, Hailey Duke. Hailey was a member of the 2010 Olympic Team and also of the McCall Ski Racing team, which father Larry coached in the 90’s.

Left to Right: Jim Lancaster, Spike Baker, Earl Dodds. Lancaster’s father, Wally, was a key Forest Service ally in the creation of Brundage Mountain along with Johnson and Dodds. Spike Baker is also the skier featured on the cover of the book, below.

Brundage Mountain owners Judd DeBoer and Diane Brown DeBoer pose with former Olympian Mack Miller. Miller is featured in the book along with five other local Olympians.

Dan Olson shows off an amazing set of photos his wife has preserved as pillows. The photos feature the Bert Olson family at the old lookout shack atop Brundage in 1967, and the same group of 6 in the same spot again in 2006.

Todd Neill, great grandson of Winfield Scott Brundage, traveled from Scottsdale, Arizona for the book release. Winfield Scott Brundage is the namesake of Brundage Mountain.

Attendees packed the seats Tuesday at the Idaho Historical Museum in Boise as author Eve Chandler presented photos detailing the history of skiing in McCall and the early days of the Brundage Mountain Ski Area.
