Elevate Your Experience with Brundage Mountain SnowCat Adventures

11/17/14

We’ve had our first glimpse of powder on the mountain this season and that has us daydreaming about long, deep days in the backcountry. Our popular guided snowcat trips are booking up quickly this time of year. Our expansive 18,000 acres of terrain is part of what makes these tours such a great value. The newest terrain in our permit area is causing a big stir among powder aficionados and you really do need to ski (or board) it to believe it.

It was just two years ago that our backcountry snowcat program acquired access to a long-coveted piece of powder heaven, now known in Brundage circles as “La Casa”. We’re looking forward to another season of sharing this rare gem on our guided tours.

The new 470-acre area is technically referred to as the Six Mile Ridge zone. It’s just south of some of our most popular runs off Granite Mountain.

On our map, you’ll see it labeled “La Casa”. Translated, that means “the house”, but a better description might be “El Castillo” (the castle), because these majestic runs are truly fit for royalty!

The steep, north-facing terrain is a collection of chutes and pillow drops with some tantalizing open faces that can truly take your breath away. Natural features make this terrain an unlikely choice for snowmobilers, so once you roll over the ridge top, you’re likely to find 1,200 vertical feet of private, untracked bliss.

This new terrain is part of what’s making our SnowCat Adventures more popular than ever, so be sure to call early to book your trip with our experienced, licensed (and fun!) backcountry outfitters. (208) 315-3080.
