Lakeview is now open following a productive Christmas storm cycle that delivered 10 to 15 inches of fresh snow across the slopes.

The new snowfall allowed mountain operations teams to safely prepare the Lakeview Zone for opening part way through the day, marking a major milestone for the holiday season. With the Lakeview Triple Chair coming online, all chairlifts at Brundage are now operating, and the majority of the resort’s top-to-bottom terrain is open.

“This storm cycle gave us exactly what we needed, and our crews have been moving quickly and deliberately to turn that snow into great skiing and riding,” said Ken Rider, general manager of Brundage Mountain. “Our focus has been on opening new zones safely while also expanding the grooming rotation in areas that are already open. Guests should expect noticeable improvements and added variety every day.”

With all chairlifts in operation — including two high-speed quads on the front side — Brundage is positioned to move skiers and riders efficiently through the base area and out across nearly 1,500 acres of open terrain. Brundage Mountain’s lift system is designed to spread guests across the mountain before peak crowds form, enhancing both flow and the overall on-snow experience.

Guests can expect more terrain to be open in the coming days. High winds that came with last week’s snowstorms downed dozens of trees on North, Rodeo, Slobovia and Judd’s Gem, along with hundreds of trees that came down across the resort. Slope maintenance and patrol teams are diligently removing those trees and repairing the snowpack around them and should have additional runs open toward the beginning of the week.     

“Please remember we have early season conditions up here and guests should be careful exploring off-piste areas,” says Rider. “There are trees down everywhere, and we’re working to get to as many of them as we can. People should understand that many of these tree hazards will exist until the snow covers them up. If you see a rope or closure sign, it’s there for a reason and that reason is your safety and the safety of our team. Please respect those closures.”

New Year’s Celebrations and Shuttle Updates

Brundage will ring in the New Year with its annual Light Up the Night celebration on New Year’s Eve, featuring a torchlight parade, fireworks and family-friendly festivities in the base area. A free shuttle service will be available for the event to help guests enjoy the celebration without the hassle of driving.

In addition, the McCall-to-Brundage daytime shuttle is now running full time, providing convenient, car-free access between downtown McCall and the mountain throughout the winter season.
