What's New for Winter 2024/25: Introducing the New Mountain Adventure Center

10/02/24

Brundage Mountain Resort’s new 18,000-square-foot guest services base lodge will open at the beginning of the 2024/25 winter season. The MTN Adventure Center (MAC) is designed to streamline the guest experience, providing a more efficient and hassle-free arrival process at the resort.

MTN Adventure Center

Designed with both convenience and guest experience in mind, the MAC brings together all key services under one roof, including ticketing, guest services, the MTN Sports School, daycare, a rental and demo gear shop, a retail shop, a coffee shop and new restrooms—all on one level. This streamlined layout will help guests spend less time navigating facilities and more time enjoying the mountain.

The MAC’s lower level – easily accessible by stairs or elevator – will house additional amenities, including a fully equipped ski and snowboard tuning shop, indoor day locker rentals, and a new private locker room for season locker holders.

“The MTN Adventure Center represents a major step forward in enhancing the guest experience at Brundage,” says Ken Rider, General Manager of Brundage Mountain Resort. “By consolidating essential services in one modern facility, we aim to provide a more seamless and enjoyable experience for every guest.”

The Design & Visual Impact

Another key design consideration was the visual impact of the MAC. The resort chose a low-profile design with clean lines that wouldn’t block the view of the mountain from the base area.  Large windows highlight the views and natural building materials and landscaping mesh tastefully with the surrounding natural environment.

“There’s a special feeling when you arrive at Brundage Mountain,” says Rider. “The anticipation of driving up through the forest, then having the slopes slowly reveal themselves as you pull into the parking lot is something we cherish. We wanted to make sure that new facilities don’t get in the way of those moments.”

The New MAC Experience

Drop Off & Entry – The upper parking now includes a paved drop-off loop directly in front of the MAC. A spacious and welcoming Guest Services area makes it easy to purchase a season pass, make reservations or book a lesson with the Mountain Sports School. For those who simply need to purchase a ticket or RFID card, outdoor ticket windows are conveniently located on ground-level. The new facility is accessible to people with disabilities, meeting ADA standards.

Rental & Demo Shop – The new Rental and Demo area is designed to streamline the process of gearing up skiers and snowboarders of all sizes. The spacious shop is bright, inviting, and just steps from the chairlift or lesson meeting areas. The expansive demo fleet features the newest models from Black Crows, Nordica, Kastle, Dynastar, Blizzard, Elan, Head and K2 Snowboards.

Retail Shop – More space means the Brundage retail shop will be sporting a broader selection of helmets, eyewear and apparel. A new line of Brundage logo wear features functional and fashionable clothing items in a variety of colors and styles.

Base Camp Coffee Shop – Coffee, espresso, and grab and go breakfast and snack items will be available all day at the new Base Camp Coffee Shop. Guests can use the walk-up window to order from outside or enjoy the view from a handful of seats indoors. Base Camp will also serve a variety of adult beverages and snacks to enjoy on the expansive new paver patio surrounding the MAC snowfront.

New Locker Rooms and Gear Storage – The lower level of the MAC offers three new options for gear storage. Indoor Day Lockers (146) are available on a daily or multi-day basis in different sizes. 166 new state-of-the art Seasonal Lockers are contained in a private locker room that features a private bathroom and changing room. Each of these seasonal lockers is outfitted with two sets of Wintersteiger boot dryers. The new lodge also has space for overnight gear storage. Guests can drop off skis and boards for secure indoor storage at the end of one day and pick them up the next. Overnight hot wax service is also available.

Tune Shop – The new tune shop is located on the lower level and features top of the line Wintersteiger tuning equipment.

MTN Sports School & Daycare – The newly-designed MAC allows the Brundage MTN Sports School to offer a wider variety of kids’ programs, including the popular MTN Explorers program for ages 7 & up. Parents of younger children can make use of Brundage Mountain’s state-certified daycare, which provides care for children 6 weeks to 6 years old.

Affordable Beginner Programs Add Value for Families

New for the 2024-25 season, Brundage guests can purchase a full day “Beartopia” lift ticket online for just $30 and enjoy unlimited access to more than 100 acres of mostly beginner and novice terrain, including all of Brundage Mountain’s terrain parks! The Beartopia ticket includes the Easy Rider Conveyor, the Easy Street Triple Chair and the Bear Chair Triple. View Beartopia Map

The deal gets even sweeter for adults who are skiing with young kids. Adults who go online can purchase their own Beartopia ticket for just $20 when they also order a free 6 and under lift ticket.

Beginner skiers and snowboarders will also want to check out the new Brundage Starter PAK. This package includes three 90-minute lessons, three days of lift access, season-long ski or snowboard rentals AND an unlimited season pass upon completion of the third lesson. This package is for beginners ONLY and quantities are limited. The price is $499 for those 17 & Under (a $1700 value) and $999 for adults (a $2,200 value).

“Making it easy for families to enjoy Brundage Mountain has long been a priority,” says Rider. “These new programs, plus the relaunch of daycare in our new facility, will give families more options and more value during that crucial stage where they’re trying to get their kids excited about snowsports.”

Also new for 2024/25: Independent Fire Protection & EMS Services

Brundage Mountain Resort has established its own, independent fire department and expanded the EMS services based at the mountain. The new Brundage Mountain Fire Protection Association came online September 1, 2024 after purchasing a fire truck, hiring a full-time chief and training 14 volunteer firefighters. The fire crew will have a larger and more accessible water supply at their disposal. A new 435,000-gallon water tank will come online this fall. The tank has a 180,000-gallon fire suppression reserve and is part of a system that includes a hydrant beside each new building in the ski resort’s base area.

The EMS agency that was established by the Brundage Mountain Patrol in 2021 can now provide transport services in addition to on-site emergency medical services. The Brundage Mountain Emergency Medical Services (BMEMS) successfully acquired state licensing as a transport EMS agency in September 2024. A new resort-based ambulance will reduce travel times and allow for better continuity of care between the slopes and the emergency room. Brundage invested in a new Mountain Patrol Building two years ago that features a state-of-the-art first aid room.

These investments are the latest in a series of improvements at Brundage Mountain Resort, which opened in 1961 with a single lift and A-frame lodge. Brundage launched a 10-Year Improvement Plan in 2021 which has created major improvements on the mountain, including the Centennial Express high-speed quad, which opened last season.
