100% Open: Brundage Mountain is The First Ski Resort in Idaho to Open 100% of Terrain & Chairlifts Full Time

12/09/22

Bear Chair opens for the season 12.9.2022

A series of robust winter storms continues to drop early season snowfall on Brundage Mountain, and the McCall ski resort is excited to be the first ski area in Idaho to have 100 percent of its chairlifts operating and 100 percent of its terrain open to the public.

Brundage opened full time, seven day a week operations on Friday, December 2 and has been working hard throughout the week to add terrain and additional lift service. The Hidden Valley terrain opened yesterday (Thursday, December 8), and the resort reached the ever-important 100 percent open mark today when the Bear and Lakeview Triple Chairlifts opened for the season. Brundage also has two terrain parks open with 17 freestyle features built so far.

“This is exactly how we love to start the season,” says Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider. “Early season snowfall set us up for one of our earliest openings in recent history and now, just one week later, our hard-working team has 100 percent of our terrain and all chairlifts open for skiers and riders with exciting amounts of snow in the forecast.”

The slopes of Brundage Mountain have seen eight inches of fresh snow this week – on top of three feet the week prior – and significant amounts of snow are expected to fall through the weekend. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from late Friday through Sunday with an additional 1-2 FEET of snow possible.

Brundage Mountain wants to remind skiers that Unlimited 2022-23 Season Passes are sold out and that resort managers will be capping day ticket sales during the upcoming holiday period to limit crowds on peak days. Day Tickets are available for sale online and those who plan to visit on peak days are encouraged to pre-purchase in advance.

Lakeview Triple Opens for the Season 12.9.2022

“Naturally, everyone wants to come ride the Best Snow in Idaho when they have time off during the holidays, but no one wants to spend all day standing in line,” says Rider. “We are committed to providing a quality experience and we do that by carefully tracking visitation trends and limiting sales to prevent the slopes and facilities from getting overcrowded.”
