Post-Holiday Hello from General Manager, Ken Rider

01/06/22

Happy 2022 from the Brundage Mountain family to yours! We were excited to see so many of you over the holidays enjoying a great end to 2021. Brundage Mountain saw near record snowfall for the month of December and were able to get the mountain 100% open before Winter Break for all of you to enjoy.

As we come out of the holiday season, we continue to face challenges. As a resort operating with limited staff, we are now challenged with illnesses (both a seasonal ‘cold’ and Covid-19) sweeping through our ranks. As of this morning, we have over 50 employees who are home sick, are in quarantine due to an exposure to Covid, or have tested positive for Covid. This has affected every department at Brundage. As you can understand, this makes for some significant operational challenges.

Our goal is to keep as much of the resort open to offer the best experience possible for our guests, even under these tough circumstances. To that end, we updated our Covid-19 policies to include mandatory face coverings for all individuals, including all guests and employees, in all of our indoor buildings and facilities. Those updates can be found here:

Covid-19 Precautions for the 2021/22 Winter Season

In addition to updating our Covid-19 policies, we are implementing a daily operational update to help keep you, our valued guests, informed about what you can expect each day you visit Brundage Mountain. Those updates can be found by visiting our website and looking for the Daily Operational Update. Our plan is to have this updated at the end of each day for the following day, with the best information we have at that time. As we’ve all learned, this is a fluid situation and updates can change overnight. If further updates are necessary, we will provide those on this page:

Daily Operational Updates

You can also follow us on Twitter @BrundageMtn to receive real time operational updates.

Please remember it is our goal to be open and to provide a great experience for all our guests and employees while being as safe as possible. We do not want to close any of our facilities or operations and are having to make difficult choices daily, sometimes even hourly. Please be patient and kind with us as our team works through these challenges.

On the plus side, the snow and conditions are fantastic right now. December’s storms have built a solid base, and fresh snow continues to provide the most crucial ingredient for us all to enjoy ‘The Best Snow in Idaho’. Hope to see you on the slopes soon.

Ken Rider, General Manager, on behalf of Team Brundage
