Brundage Mountain Patrol Becomes a Licensed EMS Agency

10/26/21

Brundage Mountain Resort is proud to announce that its Mountain Patrol achieved Idaho State licensing as an EMS agency (Emergency Medical Services) this year.

This designation will help the Brundage Mountain Patrol deliver a higher level of care and enhanced coordination with other local EMS providers year-round.

“As the area grows and the industry changes, this new designation will help us better meet guest expectations for medical care, year-round,” said Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider.

Dr. Gregory Irvine, who is Chief of Staff at St. Luke’s McCall, serves as medical director of the new agency.

Patrollers who are licensed EMTs have an expanded scope of practice when caring for patients. This change streamlines the process for qualified health care providers already in the community to become patrollers at Brundage Mountain, a critical factor in recruiting qualified people to fill this important role.

“We want to create a smooth path for existing EMTs, physicians and other medical providers to add their talents to our patrol team,” said Brundage Mountain Patrol Director, Janna Allen.  “OEC providers will continue to play an important role in our response at Brundage Mountain. This new designation allows us to also recruit EMT-level professionals for both our ski and mountain biking programs.”

Brundage Mountain Patrol continues to be affiliated with the National Ski Patrol (NSP) organization and Brundage operates with both paid and volunteer members who are either OEC certified and/or are licensed EMTs who also have their OEC.
