NEW: Lakeview Vista Trail Opens Wednesday, Aug. 7

08/05/19
The New XC Trail is a Crown Jewel of a Two-Year Trail Expansion at the Brundage Mountain Bike Park

Brundage Mountain is pleased to announce the opening of the new Lakeview Vista Trail, the latest XC addition to the Brundage Mountain Bike Park on Wednesday, August 7.

Lakeview Vista is three miles long and wraps around the south end of Brundage Mountain, offering spectacular views of Payette Lake and the Lakeview Bowl.

This two-way trail is accessible from the Brundage Mountain summit via South Lodge Lane and FS 546 Lookout Road.

There are several ways to access it from the Brundage Mountain base area. Taking South Lodge Lane to the Lakeview Vista Trail makes it four-mile one-way ride. Lakeview Vista also connects via Growler for an 8-mile point to point or 16 mile out-and-back.

Highlights of the trail include a moderate rolling pitch, wildflower meadows and unrivaled views. To the south, riders will enjoy views of Payette Lake, McCall and Long Valley. The east-facing portion of the trail features views of the Salmon River Mountains and the North Fork Payette drainage.

The trail is also open to hiking and has several beautiful areas to pull off and enjoy a snack, picnic lunch or impromptu photo session.

“The Lakeview Vista Trail is an important piece in the trail system and a symbol of the future of mountain biking at Brundage Mountain,” said Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider. “Our goal is to continue to create new trails and refine existing trails so that the Brundage Mountain Bike Park experience appeals to riders of all disciplines and ability levels now and into the future.”

Brundage Mountain has added six miles of new XC trails over the past two years along with upgrades to several existing DH trails. The Brundage Bike Shop offers an expanded fleet of rental bikes curated specifically for the new range of trails in the Brundage Mountain Bike Park. XC, Enduro and DH bikes from Kona and Rossignol are available in adult and youth models.

Lift-served biking is available via the BlueBird Express, which runs 10 am – 5 pm Wednesdays through Sundays, with a Bonus Day on Monday, September 2. Cross country riders can use the trail seven days a week during daylight hours.
