Lakeview Love

12/10/10

The Lakeview Bowl made its debut today, and what a glorious start! We had three inches of fresh fluff overnight, but woke up to blue skies and sunshine. Spectacular!

The smooth, untouched lines have been teasing us for nearly a week now, so when we saw the ski patrol ‘officially’ opening the area, we were more than ready to dive in!

Runs groomed last night had that dreamy combination of smooth under fluffy.

Off-trail, the virgin snow made you feel like you were floating!

It was the kind of ‘hero’ snow that gave you the confidence to ski right under the chairlift, like this fellow:

Or explore some trees like this guy:

To be fair, Lakeview wasn’t the only place to find ‘hero’ snow conditions today.

The groomed runs on the front side felt as good as they look here…

And the powder on the front side was soft underfoot and smoother than you might expect…

But when you add up the powder, the sun and the view….

Lakeview’s debut stole the show.
