Groomerific!

12/05/10

Normally, all the glory goes to the POWDER here at Brundage Mountain, and yesterday was no exception. It was soft, sugary and delightful.

But after a full day of getting used by our guests and abused by mild temperatures, the powder was TIRED today. (Or maybe it’s just our early-season legs???) No really, it was a little thicker and creamier today which means it took the right combination of technique, leg strength and big fat boards to be able to enjoy the remaining fresh lines. But maybe that’s okay, because it opened the door for a new star to shine…the groomed runs.

We found some choice corduroy being enjoyed by families all over the mountain today.

It’s always fun to see parents sharing quality time and their love for skiing with the next generation.

And, after waking up under a thick layer of fog this morning, it was also nice to see some clearer skies up here.

As you can see in these photos, those who stayed in Long Valley all morning didn’t escape that low ceiling feeling.

Even when 0ur legs are too thrashed to enjoy our favorite powder lines, we find new lines to appreciate here at Brundage.

A snow crusted rope line…

Or the graceful lines of the of the lift towers and ropes.

One thing I couldn’t find, as usual, was a lift line!
