A Little Love for the Bear Chair
Today is the perfect day to give a shout out to the Bear Chair. Yes, it’s a modest mid-mountain lift, but its small stature doesn’t detract from all the fun that is had on its slopes.
Today, I spent a little time on the Bear Chair and saw countless families sharing their love for skiing and riding with the next generation.
The runs off the Bear Chair are ideal for beginner skiers and riders. They have a nice, gentle rolling slope, and their shorter length is less intimidating when you’re learning.
They’re also popular with our ski instructors and with our local ski racing team, MSRT. The McCall Ski Racing Team is holding a Christmas Race Camp here, and the Bear Chair runs are terrific for skill building.
Of course, most people start out first on Easy Street. Here is a group of Brundage Bears participating in our children’s program.
I also wanted to say thank you to my new friend, Allie, seen here sporting an impressive wedge for a first-time skier. She was nice enough to ride up Easy Street with me so I could share some good times with her on the chairlift.
Easy Street and the Bear Chair also get the endurance award today. When high winds temporarily shut down our upper mountain lifts today, the Bear and Easy Street rolled on. So here’s a shout out to the little guys!
