Opening Day Food Drive Draws More than 1000 Donations

07/02/13

Blog003The Brundage Mountain family wants to thank everyone who participated in our Grand Opening Celebration and food drive on Friday. More than 800 people rode the BlueBird Quad to the 7,640 foot summit on our first day of summer chairlift service.

We offered free chairlift rides to our guests, but asked each visitor to donate a can of food or $1 to benefit the Heartland Hunger Resource Center. The HHRC is non-profit organization whose purpose is to alleviate the hunger and hunger-related issues of those in need in Valley County and surrounding areas through a food bank located in McCall.

The effort resulted in 630 donated food items and $534 in cash for the HHRC.

Blog037

It also served as a neighborly kickoff for our summer season, which features scenic chairlift rides and lift-served mountain biking on 20+ miles of hand-built single track trails.

Blog001

All bike trails (including Hidden Valley) were open and clear of snow.

Blog020

Bikers of all levels gave trail conditions positive reviews.

Blog012But the real evidence is in the smiles!

Blog017

A lot of folks came up on foot to enjoy the gorgeous weather and impressive views.

We were grateful that so many individuals and families shared the day with us and shared a little something with our community.

Blog004

We also want to thank our partners at Giant Bicycles for donating dozens of items to our raffle. That helped us raise even more money for the Heartland Hunger Resource Center, and made for an exciting day for our winners.
