A Perfect Start

01/18/13

What better way to kick off a holiday weekend than with a near-perfect day.

Slopes are smooth and super fun to carve, the sun is out and temperatures are really pleasant.

Normally, it would seem like a waste for such a perfect day to hit on the Friday of a long holiday weekend.

Luckily, it looks like these are just the kind of conditions we can expect all weekend long.

Our forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies through Monday, with afternoon temperatures in the mid-20’s to mid-30’s. Overnight, temperatures could drop into the teens or single digits, ideal conditions to keep the snow soft and carvable.

All the slopes are looking fantastic today.

The corduroy is neat and really welcoming to the edges.

Skier traffic has been pretty light so far today, too.

We do have some fun folks out enjoying the sunshine.

Look how those edges sink right in!

I’m not going to tell you there are a bunch of untracked lines still waiting to be found.

But I will tell you that if you stumble across one or two, you’ll be happy with the way the powder performs.

The key to this is the cool overnight temperatures, which also keep the groomers in top shape.

Add in all the sunshine you could ask for,

The chance to spend time with fun people,

A fairy-tale backdrop,

and you’ve got a perfect start for an unforgettable holiday weekend.

See you soon!

– April
