18,000 Acres of Backcountry Powder Await!

The latest storm to hit the West Central Mountains dropped a total of 20 inches of fresh snow on Brundage Mountain between 4:00 am Wednesday, January 18 and 1:00 pm Thursday, January 19.

Powder fans were treated to one of the best days of the season.

The fresh snow will allow Brundage to start guiding our acclaimed Backcountry SnowCat Trips starting Sunday, January 22.

It takes a significant snowpack to build our backcountry road system and this storm is making that possible.

Brundage Mountain guides full-day SnowCat trips for skiers and snowboarders on 18,000 acres of backcountry terrain. The most popular backcountry runs descend from Granite Mountain and Slab Butte. Access to those peaks requires that over-the-snow roads be built on specific routes, where snow depths and consistency are key.

We have a series of storms coming in over the next several days, so our Snow Cat guests can expect exceptional conditions right from the start.
