McCall’s Activity Barn Will Open for Snow Tubing Friday, December 16
McCall’s Activity Barn will offer gravity-fed thrills starting Friday, Dec. 16. The Snow Tubing hill, located two miles south of McCall, will open with three 800-foot tubing lanes, thanks to a combination of snowmaking and natural snowfall. Two additional lanes will be added as snow and snowmaking conditions permit.
Anyone 36 inches or taller can go snow tubing at the Activity Barn, which features a conveyor lift to transport snow tubers to the top of the hill.
Tubing is offered in two-hour blocks. Guests can pre-schedule their tubing sessions online to reserve a spot. Space is limited during each session to make sure everyone gets an ample amount of tubing action and lines don’t get too long.
The Activity Barn’s regular operating days are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The tubing facility will be open seven days a week between Christmas and New Year’s, and also during McCall’s Winter Carnival. Bonus Mondays are planned on the three-day MLK and Presidents weekends.
“The tubing lanes are in great shape to start the season, and our friendly Activity Barn staff is trained up and ready to welcome guests for some fun downhill thrills,” says Ken Rider, General Manager of Brundage Mountain Resort, which owns and operates the Activity Barn.
This winter season will see the return of night tubing, with special themed sessions offered from 6pm to 8pm on January 27, February 17 and March 17, 2023.
Tubing enthusiasts can find more information and make online reservations at www.activitybarn.com.
The Activity Barn will open the season with 5 kilometers of groomed Nordic trails on site for cross-country skiers and fat bikers to enjoy.
