Top Five Reasons to Spend the Fourth at Brundage Mountain

06/30/20
For those ready to take a break from the lake, Brundage Mountain offers a perfect alternative for Fourth of July Fun.

With loads of outdoor activities, delicious food, and plenty of fresh air, a trip to Brundage Mountain is a celebration in itself!

Read on to learn about the Top 5 Reasons to spend the Fourth of July at Brundage!

#1 – Scenic Chairlift Rides

A scenic chairlift ride to the summit of Brundage Mountain packs its own rewards, with scenic landscapes all around.

Those who want to do a bit more exploring – but still keep it mellow – can choose one or both of the half-mile summit hikes. The Lookout Trail stretches to the south and offers unobstructed views of the Payette Lakes and McCall.

The Overlook Trail meanders to the north where you can peek into the vast wildlands beyond Sargents Mountain and the Seven Devils and Wallowa Mountains.

#2 – Hiking Options for the Whole Family

The two trails that take off from the summit aren’t the only hiking options at Brundage Mountain.

Those looking for a full day adventure can explore the new Lakeview Vista Trail on foot, or piece together a custom hiking option from top to bottom.

If you want to try a distance in between, our base-area Nature Trail has lots of shade and surprisingly satisfying views of Goose Creek Canyon. The Nature Trail is also (leashed) dog-friendly!

#3 – The Brundage Bike Park is Hitting its Stride

The Brundage Trail Crew is making great strides. All of our trails are now open, with the exception of Upper Hidden Valley, Grouse and the brand new Wildcat connector.

Six new miles of XC trails have been added in recent years, and several NEW trail projects are in the works.

That means the 26+ miles of trail in the Brundage Bike Park has something for everyone to enjoy..

From the classic downhill route on Elk Trail, to the white-knuckle rock garden in Hidden Valley, to the smooth flow of Growler or the soothing scenery of the new Lakeview Vista trail, there is plenty to explore.

#4 – Disc Golf Offers Affordable Fun

Play a round on the Easy Street 9! The course is a good mix of grassy open holes and a few tighter holes through the trees and brush.  The first tee is located right next to the top of the Easy Street lift and the ninth hole finishes 50 yards from the main lodge.

The best part about disc golf at Brundage is that playing is free!  Bring your own discs and enjoy the course any time you’d like. You can rent (or purchase) discs at the Fall Line Shop (masks are required indoors), which is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. A three-disc starter set costs $25 to purchase. You can rent the set for just $10 per day.

#5 – The New Menu at Smoky’s Bar & Grill

Chef Geoff has done it again, offering a fresh new menu suited perfectly for the summer season.

Highlights include a tasty gyro, a house-made falafel, and fresh greek salad.

For a zesty twist on a classic burger, try the Hatch Burger. The spacious outdoor patio provides a relaxing option with a great view.

Brundage Mountain has adjusted summer operations to better protect staff and guests from the spread of COVID-19.

Staff and guests are required to wear face coverings indoors and while loading and unloading the BlueBird Express. Learn More
