Easy Street Open for Preview Weekend: Saturday, Dec. 2 & Sunday, Dec. 3

11/30/23

Idahoans itching to hit the slopes are invited to a Preview Weekend at Brundage Mountain Resort. The independently owned ski resort will be spinning the Easy Street chairlift Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Tickets are just $5. That fee includes a new RFID card, which all guests will need to access the slopes this winter. Anyone who has purchased a 2023-24 Winter Season Pass can pick up their card and ride the lift at no charge.

Smoky’s Bar & Grill will be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm both days, and guests will be treated to 50% savings on all rental gear in the Fall Line Shop. Please note: The Centennial Parking Lot remains CLOSED, all parking will be in the Main Upper Lot.

Brundage Mountain has been making snow in the base area all week thanks to favorable low temperatures. That has allowed the Brundage Mountain Operations team to spread out a nice, smooth layer of snow on Easy Street. They also plan to build a few small freestyle terrain features for the preview weekend.

“As we turn the calendar page from November to December we’re all extra eager to hit the slopes,” says Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider. “We’re getting things rolling this weekend thanks to our base-area snowmaking, but we’re hopeful that we’ll all be riding the upper mountain on natural snowfall very, very soon.”

Brundage Mountain is currently under a Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Watch issued by the National Weather Service. NOAA Forecasters are predicting 4-8 inches of snowfall between Thursday evening and Saturday morning, with an additional one to two FEET of snow expected between Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon, with the heaviest snow expected during the day Saturday.

“Our team is trained, ready, and fired up to get the season started,” says Rider. “We’ve got Easy Street rolling this weekend, and we’ll be working hard to open more terrain and lifts as soon as Mother Nature delivers the goods.”

There is no “magic number” of inches needed to open the front side slopes at Brundage Mountain. “Snow with a higher water content is more packable than dry, powdery snow, so our team will be out on the slopes regularly throughout this storm system to examine snow depths and conditions across the mountain. Stay tuned next week for more updates,” says Rider.
