Brundage Mountain Makes Two Key Director-Level Hires in Project and Operations Management

09/13/23

Brundage Mountain Resort continues to build out its team with experienced leaders as the resort makes steady progress on its ambitious 10-year improvement plan.

Brandon Hammer has joined the team as Director of Projects. Hammer, a University of Idaho graduate, has worked in the construction industry for more than 15 years with a focus on commercial construction project management in the Treasure Valley.

Hammer will take a lead role in executing Brundage Mountain Resort’s wide-ranging improvement plans, which include new base area facilities, ski-in/ski-out lodging, and employee housing initiatives, among other projects.

Hammer has a passion for outdoor recreation and has been skiing at Brundage Mountain for more than 30 years. He married his wife at the summit of Brundage and had his twins on skis before their second birthday.

“Brundage has always been close to my heart,” says Hammer, “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the team at such a pivotal time in Brundage Mountain’s evolution. I’m looking forward to using my background in project management, design development and construction to help Brundage reach its full potential.”

Nick Toland stepped into the newly-created position of Director of Base Area Operations last month. Toland brings more than a decade of property management and ski resort experience to the position.

Toland’s responsibilities include management and oversight of all building maintenance, janitorial, resort security, transportation, parking and groundskeeping operations for Brundage Mountain Resort, the Activity Barn Snow Tubing facility, the Creekside RV Park & Campground and the Meadows Haus employee housing facility.

Toland is an avid skier and has lived in McCall with his wife and two adventurous dogs for the past three years.

“My past professional experiences have taught me that it takes a lot of perseverance, creativity, and flexibility to be an effective leader in an organization undergoing a lot of change and growth,” says Toland. “The key to success in this kind of environment is teamwork and collaboration.”

Brundage Mountain Resort embarked on an ambitious 10-Year Improvement Plan starting in 2021 that includes major upgrades to base area and on-mountain facilities, in addition to expanding winter and summer recreational opportunities and building the resort’s first ski-in/ski-out lodging. Learn more

“One of Brundage Mountain’s top priorities moving forward is to build a cohesive management team full of experienced people who understand the Brundage mission and have the skills to communicate well and motivate their teams. Both Brandon and Nick bring those skills to these key positions and we’re excited for our guests to benefit from their impact here,” says Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider.
