Pre-Holiday Message from General Manager, Ken Rider

12/17/21

Dear Friends of Brundage,

Brundage Mountain is open and our first few days of operation have been great! Since my last message, we’ve gone from “Zero to Hero” – with three feet of snow falling in just four days – and our Mountain Ops team turning around one of the fastest openings in Brundage history.

I must applaud the entire team for making it happen safely, with extra thanks to our grooming team, lift operations, lift maintenance, snow plowing, vehicle maintenance, and last, but not least, the Brundage Mountain Ski Patrol. The operations team pulled together to open on Tuesday, and while we still have early season conditions, they are REALLY GOOD early season conditions. Great Team Play by Team Brundage!

In spite of that victory, we still face challenges heading into Winter Break, specifically when it comes to staffing. Despite meaningful efforts to boost wages, benefits and recruiting efforts, we are still short in several of our key departments.

Our current greatest needs are in Lift Operations, Facilities, and Food & Beverage. If you know of someone who might be a good fit for the Brundage Team, please send them our way.

While our recruiting efforts continue, we will be making operational adjustments in some of our facilities. In particular, we will be limited in our dining options until our Food & Beverage team can be more fully staffed.

We will work to communicate the operational changes as they happen and to keep an open line of communication with you, our valued guests. Please be patient and kind as our team works their hardest to deliver a top-notch experience to your family as you head up to enjoy the Best Snow in Idaho this holiday season.

Happy Holidays, we can’t wait to see you on the slopes!

Ken Rider, General Manager
