Winter Games XXI

03/19/11

The Winter Games tradition is alive and well here at Brundage Mountain.

We kicked off our 21st annual Winter Games event today with a variety of Giant Slalom events.

Some of the competitors are seasoned racers, others, just in it for the thrill of dodging the gates.

Proceeds from the races benefit our local race team, the McCall Ski Racing Team (MSRT). Their efforts keep the tradition of ski racing alive in our local community.

Mitey Mites and child and junior recreational racers competed in Giant Slalom events on Alpine and Griz.

Tomorrow, the GS courses will host our physically challenged athletes for the second day in a row, along with adult recreational racers.

Mitey Mites will be competing in slalom events tomorrow.

LMP Photography shot photos of all the action. You can search for a photo of your racer here.

But some of the best memories are made here, at the after-race celebration, as medals are awarded to the winners of each age group.

We want to thank Sterling Savings Bank for sponsoring this year’s event, and giving so many competitors the chance to enjoy the glory of the medals podium!
