The Day After the Dump
When the snow falls Monday and Tuesday, how do you know whether it’s ‘worth it’ to rally your powder pals up on a Wednesday? We’ve got a look at just how ‘worth it’ it was to hit the slopes today. The picture to the right was taken right in the heart of our 10-12 inch storm, on Tuesday morning.
But snow kept falling right up until closing bell last night, which means today’s powder hounds were ALSO in for a treat. There were still plenty of untracked and forgiving lines to be found this morning and even this afternoon for those keeping the faith.
Here’s a look at some of the fun that was here for the taking on ‘The Day After the Dump’.
Hidden Valley revealed some of the deepest powder stashes today.
But we were also finding soft, fluffy stuff right off trail.
Low overnight temperatures kept the snow soft and forgiving even on the lower mountain.
And we were delighting in the pleasures of soft, velvety “powderoy” all day long.
One more bonus; hitting the slopes after the storm passed meant visibility was great all day long.
Just another reminder that when it comes to deciding if a powder day will be ‘worth it’, you won’t really know until you go.
