Safety Month Topic #2: Know The Code & Know Before You Go
January is Safety Month here at Brundage Mountain and we are excited to share some pro tips on how to ski and ride safely. This week’s tips come to us from the Brundage Mountain Ski Patrol, who is focusing on two important topics:
Know the Code
No matter which run you are riding, from Tater Tot to Hidden Valley, it’s YOUR responsibility to be familiar with and abide by YOUR RESPONSIBILITY CODE.
This video from the National Ski Areas Association is a great way to learn the basics of the code and see them in action:
Know Before You Go
The legendary powder at Brundage Mountain is enticing, but before you head out to uncontrolled, unpatrolled areas like Sargeants or head beyond the boundaries of the ski area, it’s important to have the right equipment and skills. The “Know Before You Go” Program is a good place to start.
Here is a video of our Ski Patrol Director, Janna Allen, explaining some tips on how to be prepared before leaving the ski area boundary:
Brundage Mountain is hosting a FREE “Know Before You Go” Session Saturday, January 18.
