Pick Your Pleasure

12/28/14

Sam406Whether you love champagne powder, neatly-pressed corduroy or some good old mountain town revelry, we’ve had something for EVERYONE this holiday season.

This weekend has definitely been the highlight so far, with our Light Up the Night Party AND an abundance of powder.

We’ve now seen 68 inches of fresh snow since December 15th and it’s really showing on our white-washed slopes.

Today was just the latest in a string of great powder days. Anticipation was high with 6″ of fresh snow overnight, on top of 2″ the day before.

The excitement was enough to dull the chill of the cold temperatures as we ascended the lift, but the benefits of super-low overnight temps were felt the moment our boards hit the soft, fluffy, welcoming snow.

We had in inkling of how the day would shape up at last night’s Light Up the Night party. It was absolutely DUMPING as we watched the torchlight parade slither down the slopes and as we trained our eyes toward the sky for a dazzling fireworks show.

It’s always one of our favorite nights of the year, when we can gather round and enjoy the company of so many others who share our love for the mountain lifestyle.

Another favorite holiday pasttime is watching young people get their first taste of the happiness that the snow life can bring.

The only thing that some people may be longing for is a little bit of sunshine to expose our gorgeous views. But, fear not, the forecasters tell us some BlueBird days are on the horizon. View Extended Mid-Mountain Forecast here.

Sunny skies are expected Tuesday through Friday. Temperatures are expected to stay cool, so bundle up and gear up for some sparkling mountain range gazing and prime corduroy cruising…before the next blast of fresh snow heads our way.
