Mondays are for making turns!
Good morning, and welcome to your Monday morning snow report from Brundage. We’re waking up to an inch of new accumulation in the base area box this early morning as the sun rises and an almost full moon sets. Mother Nature is plating up a real “shredcuterie” board of a winter/spring variety platter for us today, and we’ll see you up here when you’re ready for a sample!
Today we’re coming up on March’s full moon, the Worm Moon, symbolizing a shift from winter to spring. It sure has felt like spring these past few days with snow-beach afternoons and soft surface conditions underfoot. We’re seeing a shift back towards more wintery weather this morning (albeit warmer than average) as a small system moves through. This one looks to be quick, with another one following a couple days out with some accumulative optimism. You can blow the dust off that Old Farmer’s Almanac and see that we’re in for a regionally forecasted return to more average temperatures as we mosey into March, but you don’t need a centuries-old forecasting formula, just snow dances and a glimmer of shreddy hope. For today, be prepared with a fit and finish that can handle whatever Mother Nature and Old Man Winter may throw at us (the right goggle lens and outerwear can make a world of difference).
Looking forward: this weekend we’ll have a host of Boarding For Breast Cancer events on tap. Give the EVENTS CALENDAR a peruse for the info.
And, don’t forget that SEASON PASSES ARE ON SALE HERE for the 26/27′ season. Now is the time to buy and lock in the best price of the year.
Whether you’re merely looking to clock a couple runs, or have loftier goals of large double digits, the mountain will be here waiting for you when you’re ready to make some turns. Smoky’s, Bear’s Den, and the other usual apres players will be here when you’re ready for a break from chomping on Mother Nature’s piste platter.
Thanks for reading, and see you on the hill,
– AL Brundy
The following is how we classify grooming at Brundage Mountain Resort:
Groomed this morning: The run/trail has been groomed after 12:01am today.
Groomed last night: The run/trail was groomed between 4:01pm and 11:59pm, after the lifts closed.
Open: The run/trail is open for skiing/riding but has had no grooming operations on it.
Closed: STAY OUT OF THIS TERRAIN. Runs marked closed have not been deemed safe for the public to be on.
Upon entering CLOSED terrain, it jeopardizes Brundage Mountain Patrol’s ability to provide aid to you. Your skiing and riding privileges will also be at risk when entering closed terrain.
