A Special Note for our Bear Chair Guests

12/01/22

Hello friends –

It’s pretty typical for us to open full time operations before we can open the Lakeview Lift, the Easy Rider conveyor. What’s not as typical is for Brundage Mountain to open full time without operating the Bear Chair, so we wanted to offer a bit more information on why that’s happening this year.

The Bear Chair’s electric motor needed extra attention this season so we can ensure both safety and reliability for our guests. The electric motor has been with our supplier for repair work for quite some time. Some of that work needed to be outsourced to a second supplier. We are waiting on delivery from those suppliers before we can re-install the Bear Chair motor, complete our annual testing and safely operate the Bear Chair. We hope to have delivery and complete that work within the next week.

We understand that the Bear Chair is an important part of the experience we offer and we wish that we had been able to have it ready for our earlier-than-normal December 2 opening. We apologize for the inconvenience and want our guests to know that we are, and will continue, to do everything in our power to have the Bear Chair operating as soon as we can safely do so. We invite you to monitor the Snow Report and Grooming Report pages for updates. We hope to see you and your family very soon on the Best Snow in IdahoTM.

Sincerely,

Ken Rider

General Manager
