Window of Opportunity
Hopes were high for a sweet powder day today, but the window of opportunity was NARROW!
We got three inches of fresh snow late yesterday afternoon and another 2 inches overnight. Normally, that bodes well for our off-trail adventures, but a combination of dense fog this morning and thickening snow by mid-day left most of us making a beeline for the groomed runs.
See how the world seems to disappear somewhere right above the Bear’s Den?
A few brave souls (mostly snowboarders and skiers with RIDICULOUSLY wide boards) kept the dream alive off-trail.
The fog did eventually loosen a bit, as you can see looking up the Centennial lift line.
Still, most of today’s visitors found refuge on the soft creamy groomed runs.
We found rippers of all ages and equipment preferences –
And I must say – they are in top early-season form!
