Where Does it Come From?

02/09/11

It’s hard to believe even if you witness it first-hand. Sweet, fluffy powder turns off-trail TODAY?

No kidding, there they are. All the photos in this post were taken TODAY. (For even more great powder shots, check out Monday’s blog post)

I’m not the only one to express surprise today after diving in and enjoying the sweet fluffiness underfoot.

But how does this happen? It’s hard to figure where these powder surprises come from when you look at our recent snow totals.

I’m sure you’ve all seen this week’s stats on the Snow Report page.

Not the kind of image that screams “Powder Day”, is it?

Still, for the third day in a row, we’re finding sweet satisfying powder stashes off-trail in the trees.

The groomers are fantastic, too.

We even had sunshine this morning, and more sunshine is expected tomorrow.

It’s tempting to sit here and ponder how this is possible…but it’s more tempting to put your boards to the snow and just feel the magic for yourself.

See you tomorrow!

– April
