The X Factor
Before it was associated with a talent search tv show, the “X Factor” was a term used to describe “that certain unknown quality” that makes something special.
Our slopes today were covered with big, broad smiles, and it took me a while to figure out what that X-Factor was that made today so enjoyable for so many people.
Perhaps you can see a hint of it in this photo…
All of these smiling people are out enjoying the clear skies and corduroy…WITH FRIENDS.
Whether that friend take the form of a coach or mentor, teaching new skills…
A parent offering support and encouragement from the background…
Or just a favorite ski buddy along to help you enjoy the ride…
Today, good times were all about the company you keep.
The allies who are there to share a new experience…
Appreciate the beauty of the day…
And become part of a lasting memory.
For me, that was today’s X factor, that certain unknown quality that can make a trip to the mountains so special.
