The Calm After the Storm
What a difference a day makes! Yesterday, we had snow, fog and crazy wind gusts. Today, it was sunshine and blue skies. That gave me my first real chance of the season to shoot photos of the spectacular views here at Brundage Mountain.
It was an ideal day for cruising and carving, with the groomed runs not too hard, not too soft, but just right.
The photo above is off the summit, looking WNW toward the Seven Devils.
This photo is from the summit, looking ENE toward the Salmon River Mountains.
This one is from the top of the Centennial Lift, looking South toward Payette Lake. As you can see, I wasn’t the only one who thought it was a great day for a photo op.
I took this photo from the Lakeview lift line. Payette Lake and Long Valley are in the background. It probably won’t be too long now before the lake freezes over.
Another view of Payette Lake. After yesterday’s wind storm, I was surprised to see snow left in the tree branches. That’s the great thing about living in the mountains. There’s always something new to surprise you.
