Spring Powder Perfection
In typical spring fashion, the weather has been changing every few minutes up here. But in ATYPICAL spring fashion, the temperatures have stayed nice and low.
That means the 5″ of fresh snow that has fallen in the last 24 hours (or so) is fluffy, blower powder.
Combine that with some morning sunshine and favorite ski buddies and you’ve got a recipe for a perfect BLUEBIRD MORNING.
Locals were here bright and early waiting in line for the first powder shots.
And they were there for the taking! Check out these turns – right under the Blue Bird lift line.
The lower mountain had some areas where we had powdery surface snow over a smooth under layer.
We also had ‘hero corduroy’, perfectly groomed, soft, smooth and forgiving.
But the best turns were on the upper mountain, where we were hitting boot-deep and knee deep blower pow!
Today was our last Thursday of the season, and while we’re excited to be able to keep operating on weekends (more info on Bonus Weekends here), it’s a special treat to share some wicked good snow conditions with our mid-week local crowd.
Thanks for memories, friends!
