Skiing in June! Brundage Mountain to Offer Both Skiing and Mountain Biking for Opening Weekend of Summer Season

06/15/22

Brundage Mountain’s Summer Season is set to open Friday, June 17, but the Opening Weekend activities will look a lot different this year.

Scenic Chairlift rides will be offered starting Friday, June 17, but Opening Weekend visitors will also have the opportunity to ski or snowboard off the summit, for some off-piste late spring skiing turns. A small terrain park will also be open on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19.

“Spring storms have left us with a solid snowpack on the top of the mountain,” says Brundage Mountain General Manager, Ken Rider. “While we’re working to clear and prep mountain biking and hiking trails from the base area up, we’ll be prepping four or five terrain park features near the summit.”

Guests who are interested in skiing or boarding can ride the BlueBird Express to the summit on foot and put their skis or boards on at the top. The terrain park will be located just north of the BlueBird lift, at the very top of the Main Street run. There is not continuous snow from top to bottom, so skiers and riders will be allowed to download the BlueBird Express when they finish riding.

2022-23 Winter Season Passholders and 2022 Summer Bike Park Passholders can ride the lift and park features at no additional charge. Adult tickets are available for $20 and youth are $15.

“It’s extremely rare to get the chance to make turns or hit rails in June, so while it’s not how we were expecting to open summer season, we’re pretty stoked about it,” added Rider.

While the upper mountain snowpack will keep some mountain bike trails closed, others that run from the base area to mid-mountain will be open for cross-country riding. Bikers and hikers are encouraged to check the resort’s Summer Trail Report starting Friday, June 17 to track new trail openings in the 30+ mile bike park over the next couple weeks.

Slope-side dining at Smoky’s Bar & Grill begins Friday, June 17 and the Disc Golf Course is scheduled to be open for free play.

Brundage Mountain will be open Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays June 17-19 and June 24-26.

The resort will open for Wednesday through Sunday operations starting June 29, with Bonus Days Monday, July 4, Tuesday, July 5 and Monday, September 5.

Summer Events

Brundage Mountain is hosting a variety of special events this summer to take advantage of the Idaho ski resort’s natural summer beauty. FREE Yoga Practice will be offered in the grassy base area each Wednesday at 11 am starting June 29.

The Brundage base area will also play host to a one-day music festival and a weekly concert series.

Fourth of July Music Fest

The Music Fest runs from 10:15 am – 5 pm and admission is FREE.

TGIF Summer Concert Series
