One Step Above

12/07/10

Leaving my house this morning it would appear to be one of those foggy overcast days.  As my commute to the mountain cruised by it became more and more evident that I had been deceived.

As I drove up the Brundage road, the sky broke open and the summit revealed itself through the clouds dressed in a beautiful blue backdrop.  At that point, I new it was going to be a wonderful day skiing at the mountain.  I buckled my boots with haste in anticipation to reach the summit and drown in the December sunshine.

Upon reaching the summit, the view was breathtaking.  It was as if Brundage and the surrounding mountains were floating in a sea of clouds, only the tallest peaks stood proud above the under-laying fog.  The warm sun hit my face and immediately brought a smile to my lips.

On days such as these there is truly nowhere else I would rather be than sliding around… one step above the clouds.

Here is a photographic representation…

There is snow in the forecast through the end of the week, so soak it up while you can!!
