What's New for 2016/17
2016/17 Improvements
Our goal here at Brundage Mountain is to offer a hassle-free experience for our guests, so YOU can spend less time getting set and more time making memories on the snow. This year’s off-season investments are all about making sure we can offer the best experience possible, right from opening day, no matter what mother nature throws our way! From strategic snowmaking, to enhanced backup power systems to a safer road and smoother website experience, we’re working hard to make your next ski trip as simple and streamlined as possible. Check it out:
Base-area Snowmaking
A new snow making system will target key areas to make sure we have ample coverage on our lower slopes early and late season when Mother Nature tends to be more stingy with snowfall at the 6,000 foot level. Three snowguns will be rotated through different strategic locations to give our mountain crews the ability to beef up snow coverage on lower Bear and at the Bear & Centennial base terminals.
Backup Power System
Brundage Mountain is installing a brand new back-up power generator system for the Main Lodge. This system will feature automatic switching, so if the power goes out, guests will see a seamless transition to a backup power source. These upgrades will keep both our lodges and lifts humming right along even when our primary power source gets interrupted.
Goose Lake Road Work
Access to Brundage Mountain received a huge boost with a $10 milllion road improvement to Goose Lake Road. A combination of realignment, clearing, and widening will provide safer access to the mountain in all four seasons. Work will be completed next spring with new asphalt pavement and a new intersection at the junction with Highway 55.
The sharpest curve will be eliminated in time for travel this winter. The video below shows the new, more gentle curve that has replaced the infamous ‘hairpin turn’ on what we have come to know as ‘Icebox Corner’.
State-of-the-Art Website
The newest version of www.brundage.com provides faster load times and a better user experience on mobile devices and tablets. All this, without sacrificing favorite features like our top-rated snow report page, webcams and SnowBlog. Improved navigation and search functions will make it easier than ever to find the information you’re looking for as you plan your next visit to the Best Snow in Idaho.
