Major Lodge Expansion, New Groomers & Slope Improvements for 2014/15 Winter Season
Major Lodge Expansion Adds 3,200 Square Feet
A more spacious and hassle-free lodge experience is the goal of a half-million dollar project at Brundage Mountain Resort. This season’s addition is the largest piece of a phased expansion project in progress since 2011.
Highlights include new ticket windows and Guest Services facilities just steps from the parking lot. The new ‘plaza’ level will allow visitors to purchase passes and tickets and book lessons and snowcat trips without climbing a long staircase to the upper floors.
The expansion doubles the size of the Rental Shop and Retail areas and helps ease congestion during busy periods. New decks added to the south and southeast sides of the lodge will allow for outdoor table service from Smoky’s Bar & Grill in both the winter and summer seasons.
By The Numbers
This latest phase adds more than 3,200 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, including:
- 1,200 square feet of table-served deck for Smoky’s Bar & Grill
- 750 square feet of indoor space for the Rental, Tuning and Retail Shops.
- 700 square feet of brand new plaza-level space for Tickets, Ski & Ride School Reservations and Guest Services
- 550 square feet of additional deck space on the southeast side of the lodge.

On The Slopes
The grooming fleet is getting a major upgrade, with the addition of two brand new PistenBully PB400’s for the 2014/15 season. This is the same model of groomer that’s already been providing world-class corduroy on the mountain. Additionally, an extensive brush cutting effort will clear some favorite runs off the BlueBird Quad, including Ranger Trail and Sidewinder. Brush will also be cut on lower HotShot in the Lakeview Bowl.
New Snowshoe Trail & Rentals
Brundage Mountain visitors can now add snowshoeing to the list of outdoor activities. Snowshoes available for rent in the expanded rental facility will include youth and women-specific models. This summer, Brundage trail crews constructed a scenic, one-mile nature trail which will serve as a dedicated snowshoe trail during the winter months. The trailhead is conveniently located in the upper parking lot right next to the Pet Area.
