Everyone's Invited to our FREE "Light Up the Night" Party December 29!

12/23/10

McCALL, ID –You don’t have to be a skier or snowboarder to enjoy the spectacular display of lights scheduled for Wednesday, December 29 in honor of Brundage Mountain’s 50th season. Everyone is invited to enjoy the free entertainment at the “Light Up the Night” Party.

The event features a torchlight parade and a slope-side fireworks show, beginning at approximately 5:30 pm. All of these displays will be visible from the base area, so the only gear spectators need is a pair of snow boots and appropriately warm clothing.

“Our goal is to celebrate with the entire community,” said event coordinator, Leesa Johnson. “We think it will be a great opportunity to share a special moment and make lasting memories with family and friends.”

Brundage Mountain is celebrating its 50th Season. The resort opened in November of 1961 and has grown in size over the past five decades to become one of Idaho’s premiere skiing and snowboarding facilities. Brundage Mountain is owned by the DeBoer family, descendants of Warren Brown. Brown is a well-known figure in McCall history and was one of the three original founders of Brundage Mountain Resort.

“We’ve worked hard over the years to stay true to our roots and to appreciate our loyal visitors,” said resort spokesperson, April Russell. ”Hosting a free, family-friendly event is our way of saying thank you for 50 amazing years.”

The “Light Up the Night” event features live music on the third floor of the main lodge from Idaho’s own Hillfolk Noir. Music begins right when chairlifts close at 4:30 pm and will resume after the light show.

The resort is also hosting a Pasta Dinner after the light show. Pre-sold tickets are going quickly and space is limited, so advance purchase is recommended. Visitors without dinner tickets are welcome to stay and enjoy the live music on the third floor or celebrate in Smoky’s Pub after the torchlight parade and fireworks show.
