Closing Day Set for Sunday, April 19

04/16/09

Sunshine is in the forecast and slope conditions are expected to be excellent for Brundage Mountain’s Closing weekend, April 18th and 19th.

The month of March brought 61 inches of fresh snowfall to Brundage Mountain, with another 12 inches so far for the month of April. The mountain has seen freezing temperatures every night this week, which means the snowpack has remained intact and slopes are in prime spring condition. The snow base currently ranges from 56” to 84”.

“We want to go out with a bang,” said resort spokesperson, April Russell. “The forecast for this weekend is gorgeous, the slopes are in great condition, and this is exactly how we want everyone to remember their 2008/2009 season on the Best Snow in Idaho.”

Closing Weekend visitors will enjoy full-day lift tickets at the half-day rates. That means an Adult ticket (18-69) is $43, Juniors (12-17) and Seniors (70+) are $29, Youth (7-11) are $18, and as always, children 6 & under are FREE.

Brundage Mountain plans to run 4 of 5 chairlifts, which allows access to every run and 100% of the mountain’s 1,500 acres of terrain. Lifts will operate from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Food and Beverage service will be available in the Main Lodge and at the Bird’s Nest Yurt on the Summit, and Smoky’s Pub will be open. The mid-mountain Bear’s Den will be closed.

The Brundage Mountain Snowsports school will offer lessons. Reservations are highly recommended for the Brundage Bears Childrens program and Brundage Mountain Day Care services.

Keeping with last year’s tradition, visitors are invited to meet at the main lodge at 1:00 pm Sunday, April 19th to be part of the resort’s commemorative “Closing Day” group photograph.

In addition, Season Pass Holders from neighboring resorts will be eligible for even bigger Closing Weekend savings:

•    Bogus Basin Season Pass and Tamarack Season Pass holders can show their pass at the Brundage ticket window and receive a $20 discount on a full-day adult lift ticket. ($32) (No Double Discounts)

•    Anyone who purchases their 2009/2010 Season Pass now can use that pass to ski or ride the final weekend at no additional charge. Those passes are on sale at a discount rate through April 30th.
